Light Filtering to Room Darkening
Duette shades offer a wide range of light-control possibilities.
Sheer and light-filtering fabrics allow natural daylight into the room while softening glare and reducing the intensity of direct sunlight. More opaque and room-darkening fabrics provide increased privacy and greater control over incoming light.
For rooms where darkness is especially important, select Duette configurations can be paired with the Hunter Douglas LightLock® system. LightLock uses specially designed side channels to significantly reduce light entering around the edges of the shade, making it particularly well suited for bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms.
Privacy Without Giving Up Natural Light
Duette shades are particularly versatile when privacy and natural light are both important.
With available Top-Down/Bottom-Up operation, the shade can be lowered from the top, raised from the bottom or positioned between the two. This makes it possible to cover the lower portion of the window for privacy while allowing daylight to enter from above.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up is an excellent option for bedrooms, bathrooms, street-facing windows and other spaces where you may want privacy without keeping the entire window covered.
Two Levels of Light Control in One Shade
Select Duette shades are also available with Duolite®, which combines two fabrics with different levels of opacity into a single cellular shade.
This allows you to move between softer light filtering and greater room darkening without installing two separate window treatments.
Duolite can be an especially useful choice for bedrooms and multipurpose spaces where your light-control needs change throughout the day.
Duette Architella® for Greater Insulation
For homeowners who place a high priority on energy efficiency, Duette Architella® takes the cellular concept a step further.
Rather than a single honeycomb cell, Architella uses a cell-within-a-cell construction that creates additional insulating air pockets between the room and window.
This makes Architella an excellent option for large windows, rooms exposed to temperature extremes and homeowners looking for additional insulation without sacrificing the clean appearance of a cellular shade.
More Than Standard Windows
One of the advantages of Duette is its ability to accommodate a wide variety of window types.
In addition to conventional rectangular windows, Duette shades can be configured for many specialty shapes and applications, including arches, angled windows and skylights.
For sliding glass doors and other wide openings, Duette shades can also be configured with the Vertiglide™ system. Instead of raising vertically, the cellular fabric moves horizontally from side to side, allowing the same coordinated cellular appearance to continue across windows and doors.
Motorized Duette Shades
Duette Cellular Shades are available with Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation.
PowerView allows compatible shades to be controlled individually or in groups using a remote, the PowerView app or compatible smart-home systems. Shades can also be scheduled to adjust automatically throughout the day.
Automation pairs especially well with cellular shades because scheduled operation can help you make better use of their insulating properties—closing shades during periods of intense summer sun or during colder nighttime hours without having to manually adjust every window.
PowerView is also available with select Top-Down/Bottom-Up and specialty Duette configurations.
Fabrics, Colors and Cell Sizes
Duette shades are available in an extensive assortment of fabrics, textures and colors, ranging from understated neutrals to stronger accent colors.
Different fabrics provide different levels of light control and privacy, while available ¾-inch and 1¼-inch pleat sizes allow the proportions of the shade to complement the scale of the window.
Select Duette fabrics are also available in ClearView® sheer materials for enhanced view-through while still providing the distinctive cellular construction of the shade.
